Going Back in Time - Hoagie's History

Colonel Hoagies Family Restaurant was a North Bay tradition with its prime location along the Highway 17 bypass between Highways 11 North and South, and Highway 63 to Quebec. The restaurant had always had its appeal to the tourist crowd, but owner Tim Kuntz felt the business could do more with the right changes.

He rebranded the resturant as "Hoagie's Diner", combining the history of the establishment, but updating it with a more current name, logo and atmosphere. Gone was the old, worn look of the place, replaced instead with retro '50s and 60s' items such as movie posters, jukeboxes and menus. Tim and his staff added better value to the menu, built better processes and improved human resources and training.

Today, Hoagie's Diner is a local stop, thanks in large part to a feature story in 'Restaurant News' highlighted the changes, and improvements made.
